Applications for the current year shall be accepted from 29th July 2020 to 30th November 2020. Students should fill their application form online at dbt.punecorporation.org and submit the print-out of the filled application along with necessary documents (Click here read the list of required documents) at the nearest ward office. The applications at the ward office will be accepted from 1st August 2020 to 5th December 2020 on working days from 10.30 AM to 4.00 PM.

What are the schemes?
Any student from Pune who passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or any equivalent examination this year will get the one-time scholarship of Rs. 15,000 under Bharatratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad educational scheme.
Similarly, Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe educational scheme will award the scholarship of Rs. 25,000 to the students who passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or any equivalent examination.

Who can apply for these schemes?
- The student should belong to the area under Pune Municipal Corporation.
- The student must have obtained a minimum 80% in SSC or HSC exam in the year February-March 2020.
- If the student belongs to Backward Category or studied in Pune Municipal Corporation’s regular/night school, he/she is required to have obtained minimum 70%.
- If the student is 40% handicapped, minimum percentage required is 65%.
- The student must have applied at a recognized institute for further education.

Change in foreign scholarship scheme to help scores of Scheduled Caste students
Students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) can now apply for the state government’s foreign scholarship scheme for higher studies in a post-graduation (PG) course other than the faculty they completed their graduation in.
The department said that the University Grants Commission (UGC), too, allows students to apply for postgraduate courses for specialisation in streams other than the ones students opted for their graduation.
In another decision, the minister has extended the age limit for students to apply for the scholarship. Now students, who wish to apply for the foreign scholarship, can avail the benefit up to 35-year age for PG and up to 40 years for PhD.
The department has invited applications who are aspiring to study further in foreign countries. However, students will have to apply before August 14, 2020 said Munde. Keeping the Covid-19 situation in mind, the department has also allowed online application instead of physical submission of the application.

कोविड विषाणूच्या संसर्गामुळे उद्भवलेल्या परिस्थितीत राज्यातील विजाभज, विमाप्र, इमाव या प्रवर्गातील विद्यार्थ्यांची सन २०१९-२० या शैक्षणिक वर्षातील किंवा तत्पूर्वीची शैक्षणिक संस्थांना देय असलेली शिष्यवृत्ती शासनाकडून अप्राप्त आहे. या सबबीखाली कोणत्याही विद्यार्थ्यांचे प्रवेश रद्द करण्यात येऊ नये, त्याचप्रमाणे विद्यार्थ्यांना आवश्यक असलेले सर्व दाखले, प्रमाणपत्र, व आवश्यक दस्तावेज त्वरित उपलब्ध करून देण्यात यावे, असे आदेश आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन व ओबीसी कल्याण मंत्री विजय वडेट्टीवार यांच्याकडून दहावीनंतरचे शिक्षण देणऱ्या सर्व शैक्षणिक संस्थाना देण्यात आले आहे.
